Bushueva, Angelina Vladimirovna
Angelina Vladimirovna was interviewed on three occasions by Robert Latypov, in May
and October 2004, and in October 2005. She talks in depth about her parents' family
backgrounds, her grandparents and other relatives, and about her parents' lives before
the arrest of her father. She recalls how she was saved from the oprhanage by her
grandmother, how she lived with her and her sister in Perm, and how they were renuited
with their mother in ALZhIR. She talks about the living conditions in the barracks
zone of the labour camp, about her schooling there, and about the Pioneers, which
she joined in ALZhIR. She also talks about the family's return to Perm, in 1946, about
the conditions in the communal apartment where they lived, and about the many problems
which they faced, burdened as they were with the stigma of repression and extreme
poverty, until Zinaida Maksimovna's rehabilitation in 1956. In some of the most interesting
sections of the interviews Angelina talks about her mother's character after her release
from the labour camp and about her difficult relationship with her. Angelina also
talks about her further education and career in Solikamsk, about her attitudes towards
the Party after 1956, and about the evolution of her views on Soviet history since
the 1980s.
