The Whisperers: Private Life in Stalin's Russia is published by Allen Lane in the UK on 4 October 2007, and by Metropolitan in the US in November 2007.

The book was published in Holland/Belgium in November 2007 as Fluistraars: Leven onder Stalin by New Amsterdam/Standaard.

Orlando Figes spoke at the following events in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to promote the German-language edition of the The Whisperers (Die Fl¨¹sterer), which is published by Berlin Verlag.

At the London Book Fair at Earls Court Orlando Figes discussed the Re-evaulation of Soviet History under Putin with Sergei Mironenko, Director of the Russian State Archives (Russian Stand, 15 April, 2pm).

Orlando Figes discussed The Whisperers: Private Life in Stalin's Russia with Alexander Ilichevsky, winner of the Russian Booker Prize 2007 and editor of Radio Svoboda at Waterstone's Piccadilly at 6pm on 16th April.
